LNER is marking the launch of its new First Class winter menus, showcasing produce sourced from local suppliers along the East Coast route.
The complimentary food offering has been refreshed and simplified, with two new menus introduced: Winter Dish and Winter Signature. The seasonal menus will be available to First Class customers until 7 April 2026.
The Winter Signature menu includes a selection of chef-prepared dishes, with highlights such as a woodland mushroom and dark ale pie served with champ mash and vegetable gravy, followed by a traditional treacle sponge with custard.
For customers travelling earlier in the day, LNER will continue to serve its popular ‘Full LNER’ and ‘Full Veggie LNER’ breakfasts. Morning options available across all services also include a creamy avocado muffin, bacon sandwich, plant-based sausage sandwich, toasted teacake, and mango and passion fruit overnight oats.
Seasonal favourites feature across both winter menus, including a croque monsieur made with Wiltshire ham and a Mexican bean chipotle wrap.
Lighter lunch and evening options include a beetroot kimchi salad with sweetcorn hummus and Asian-style slaw, alongside a charcuterie grazing box offering a selection of cured meats and cheeses.
An aromatic halal chicken and apricot tagine, served with gluten-free couscous and quinoa, is also available on selected Monday to Friday services across both the Winter Dish and Winter Signature menus.
Sara Jenson, Hospitality Manager at LNER, said the operator had worked closely with suppliers to deliver a varied and seasonal offering.
“We take great pride in the food and drink we serve on our trains,” she said. “For our new First Class winter menus, we’ve worked with selected local suppliers to provide fresh, seasonal choices that offer both quality and variety for our customers.”
The new menus form part of LNER’s ongoing efforts to enhance the onboard experience for First Class passengers travelling along the East Coast Main Line.
