Nancy’s Bordello, a former bar and nightclub in Newcastle closed since 2019, has been sold to a new owner. The venue on 13 Argyle Street was brought to market with a guide price of £499,000.
Located in a busy student and professional area near Manors Metro, Northumbria University, and the Quayside, the property attracted strong interest. While the new owners have not disclosed their plans, the site could be redeveloped into a hospitality venue, student accommodation, or mixed-use commercial space, subject to planning approval.
Stuart Bailey of The Apartment Group, the former owner, said: “After over a decade of serving students, young professionals and locals, Nancy’s has been a cherished neighbourhood bar. As we continue to grow and focus on our broader hospitality and wedding venue portfolio, partnering with Christie & Co ensured a seamless process, and the property has found a buyer who recognises its strong potential, whether to reopen a popular bar or convert the space to meet the area’s evolving needs.”
The sale was managed by Marslie McGregor and David Cash at specialist business property advisor Christie & Co. They added: “We are delighted to have completed the sale of Nancy’s Bordello. Its reputation and location made it a standout opportunity, and we look forward to seeing how the new owners bring fresh energy to the site.”
