Viral football fan and content creator Frank Ilett, known online as @TheUnitedStrand, has signed Argos as his “Official Delivery Partner” as he edges closer to the potential end of his 493-day haircut challenge.
Frank has documented the growth of his hair since his last cut on 5 October 2024, after vowing not to cut it until his football team secures five consecutive wins. With the team currently on a four-game winning run, tonight’s match could finally bring the challenge to an end.
In anticipation of a possible long-awaited trim, Argos has stepped in to provide Fast Track delivery of the tools required, including trimmers, hair dryers, styling products and grooming kits, ensuring Frank is ready should “win number five” be secured.
Throughout the challenge, Frank has built a following of more than 1.5 million fans across social platforms, with audiences tuning in daily to follow the highs and lows of both his team’s performances and the ever-growing hair that has become synonymous with his content.
To mark the occasion, Frank will host a YouTube livestream on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, featuring special guest appearances. Millions are expected to tune in as his fate rests on the outcome of the match.
Harry Boughton, Director of Buying at Argos, said:
“We’ve followed Frank’s story and can sympathise with the fact that, when the moment comes, he’ll want a trim delivered as swiftly as possible after such a long wait. With Argos Fast Track delivery, we’ll make sure the kit gets to him faster than he can say ‘five wins in a row’.”
Frank Ilett, aka TheUnitedStrand, added:
“I’m buzzing to think that I might finally be parted from my barnet. The hair is heavy, I won’t lie, and my nerves tonight will be jangling — but at least I know the kit is ready. I just hope the team can deliver as efficiently as Argos does.”
