Leeds has taken centre stage on one of YouTube’s biggest channels after Flip Out Leeds hosted social media supergroup the Sidemen for the filming of their hugely popular Hide and Seek series – with the episode racking up millions of views within hours of going live on 1 February.
The episode sees six of the seven Sidemen – Olajide Olatunji (KSI), Simon Minter (Miniminter), Tobi Brown (TBJZL), Ethan Payne (Behzinga), Vikram Barn (Vikkstar123) and Harry Lewis (W2S) – joined by friends including Danny Aarons, JME and AB as they transform the world’s biggest indoor adventure park into the ultimate hiding playground.
A firm fan favourite, Hide and Seek is one of the most popular and recurring formats on the Sidemen’s main YouTube channel, regularly pulling in millions of views and cementing the group’s status as one of the most influential creator collectives in the world. With a combined following of tens of millions across platforms, Sidemen Sundays remain a cultural event for Gen Z and young millennial audiences.
Spanning more than 100,000 sq ft, Flip Out Leeds provided an epic backdrop for the challenge. One of the largest trampoline and adventure parks in the world, the venue offers non-stop fun for all ages, including a vast trampoline arena with 150 interconnected trampolines, an 18,000 sq ft inflatable obstacle course, dodgeball courts, super slides, a multi-storey Ninja Playground, drift bike arena, roller disco, soft play and a large arcade area.
The venue is also home to Laser Quest Leeds, the UK’s most immersive laser tag experience, featuring a two-storey, space-themed arena complete with catwalks, mazes, pulsating music, dramatic lighting effects and galactic-style architecture – making it an ideal setting for high-energy content.
Flip Out Leeds welcomed an impressive 120,000 visitors in the first three months since it opened in October last year, cementing its status as one of the city’s most popular new leisure attractions.
Richard Beese, Founder and CEO of We Do Play, which operates Flip Out Leeds, said: “Welcoming the Sidemen and their friends to Flip Out Leeds was incredibly exciting for us. Their Hide and Seek videos are iconic and are usually filmed in unique, closed settings such as military bases, private houses and even islands, so to host one in a venue that the public can actually visit is really special.
“Seeing them make full use of the scale and variety of the venue was brilliant. Flip Out Leeds is designed for big experiences and big moments, so to feature in a video watched by millions around the world is something we’re extremely proud of.”
The collaboration highlights Flip Out Leeds’s growing reputation as a go-to destination not just for families and thrill-seekers, but also for major content creators looking for unique, large-scale locations to bring their ideas to life.
Flip Out Leeds is open seven days a week.
