Dow Schofield Watts (DSW) has strengthened its footprint in Manchester with the launch of a permanent office in the city centre. The new space, located within Cubo Spinningfields, expands on the firm’s existing presence through DSW Ventures, its early-stage venture capital arm, which has operated in the city since 2018 in response to Manchester’s growing technology ecosystem.
The enlarged office will accommodate DSW Ventures’ recently expanded investment team, which has welcomed two new members, and will also provide space for other businesses within the DSW group. This development ensures that the firm can continue to support its growing client base across deal advisory, tax, business recovery, investment, and legal services, all from a central location in one of the UK’s most significant economic hubs.
The Manchester office expansion complements DSW’s existing headquarters in Daresbury, Cheshire, and follows shortly after DSW Ventures opened a new office in Birmingham to respond to the region’s rapidly expanding technology sector. With this latest move, the firm now operates across London, the South East, the Midlands, the North West, the North East, Wales, and the South West.
Shru Morris, chief executive of Dow Schofield Watts, emphasised the firm’s continued commitment to the North West: “Founded in the North West, our commitment to the region has remained unchanged even as our nationwide expansion continues. With the expansion of our Manchester office, we’re creating a permanent base for both DSW Ventures and the wider group, reinforcing our presence in the markets that matter most to our clients and ambitious entrepreneurs.”
Keith Benson, co-founder of DSW Ventures, highlighted the importance of the move for both the team and its portfolio companies. “Having operated in Manchester for the last four years, we’ve continued to grow our team while supporting a growing number of innovative businesses. The expansion of our office at Cubo is a reflection of this growth and our commitment to one of the UK’s fastest growing regional economies. It will also offer us the chance to better collaborate with other businesses within the DSW platform, providing a larger space for us to work together to best support both our portfolio companies, and the development and progression of our people.”
The new Manchester office represents a significant milestone for Dow Schofield Watts, underlining its dedication to regional growth and innovation. By centralising operations for DSW Ventures and the wider advisory group, the firm is poised to offer enhanced services to entrepreneurs and businesses alike, ensuring that client needs are met efficiently while fostering collaboration and development within its teams.
