The Private Equity backed Accountancy group Cooper Parry has strengthened its audit capability once again, bringing in another senior figure from PwC while also elevating two rising leaders from within its own ranks. The moves reflect what the focus key phrase identifies as the Cooper Parry audit team expansion, a continuing strategy to build scale, expertise and regional presence.
The latest arrival is Liz Ross Jones, an experienced audit specialist whose background spans listed companies, privately owned and equity backed firms and foreign owned subsidiaries. Her work across sectors including manufacturing, food and drink and energy has given her a reputation for handling complexity with clarity. GAAP conversions, acquisitions, business sales and finance system transformations are all firmly within her track record. Colleagues say her straight talking style is a hallmark of her approach and a valuable addition to the Cooper Parry audit team expansion.
Ross Jones will join Arif Ahmad, another heavyweight who made the switch from PwC in September. Together, they are set to strengthen Cooper Parry’s growing presence across Yorkshire and the North East. Speaking about her decision to join, Ross Jones said: “What stood out to me about CP was the energy and ambition. It’s a firm that genuinely cares about people and the impact it makes, and that really resonated with me.” She added: “I’m looking forward to building strong relationships across Yorkshire and the North East, joining a team that brings CP’s values to life every day.”
Alongside the external appointments, Cooper Parry has promoted two of its own. Holly Green and David Fotheringham have both stepped up to partner within the audit group. Their promotions are another key moment in the Cooper Parry audit team expansion.
Green, who joined in April 2022, has played a major role in securing and delivering complex group audits for large businesses. Her success in winning and growing significant audit relationships has helped shape the firm’s momentum. Fotheringham’s journey has been longer, beginning in the Midlands 12 years ago. Since those early days, he has been part of transforming what was once a start up operation into one of London’s leading firms for tech and high growth clients.
Katie Warrington, the firm’s national head of audit, summed up the importance of these developments. She said: “Seeing our audit partner group grow with Liz joining and Holly and David stepping up is a huge milestone. It reflects the momentum we’ve built and the ambition we have for the future.” Warrington also highlighted Ross Jones’s impact, noting: “Liz’s experience and straight talking approach will strengthen our team even further as we continue to deliver audits that go beyond compliance to add real value.”
