Carney Consultancy Targets Growth Across North West and Yorkshire

North Shields-based Carney Consultancy has reported a 25 per cent increase in turnover and is planning further growth through geographic expansion. The firm, which specialises in quality, safety, health and environmental (QSHE) training and consultancy, anticipates a 40 per cent growth rate over the next three years. Expansion plans include targeting new markets in the North West and Yorkshire.

The company has reinvested 10 per cent of its profits into staff training and development. Each of its 16 employees has access to tailored training programmes, providing clear progression routes. This approach has supported both individual career growth and the company’s broader success.

In addition to its core health and safety services, Carney Consultancy has introduced new offerings and invested heavily in training to broaden its portfolio of courses. This strategy has coincided with reaching a milestone of 200 retained clients, a figure the firm aims to increase to 250 in line with its five-year business plan.

Managing director Angela Carney explained: “We have worked hard to implement a five-year strategy which has enabled us to identify how we want to grow the business and where to spot areas of growth. We have made several significant hires across the year and invested heavily in developing further training courses, to the benefit of our clients. As they grow, we are able to grow with them and be their go-to company for health and safety advice.”

The firm is also engaging with companies in the built environment sector that are implementing advanced digital management systems to improve safety cultures. Angela Carney highlighted this as an example of how the consultancy is supporting clients’ operational transformation while expanding its own services.

By combining strategic expansion, employee development, and a focus on diversifying services, Carney Consultancy aims to sustain its growth trajectory and strengthen its position in the QSHE sector across northern England.
