Blackpool Seasonal Products Wholesaler Rescued After Cyber-Attack

Blackpool-based seasonal products wholesaler Trans-Continental Group Ltd has been acquired out of administration, safeguarding 13 jobs after the business faced significant operational challenges.

Chris Ratten and Gareth Harris of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory were appointed joint administrators of the company on 27 November 2025. The firm, which operates from freehold premises, had struggled with cashflow issues and a cyber-attack in 2024.

Since their appointment, the administrators completed a sale of the business and its assets to Transcontinental Imports Ltd, ensuring all staff transfer to the new company.

Chris Ratten, partner at RSM UK and joint administrator, said: “A cyber-attack derailed operations in 2024 which was hard to recover from, and like many wholesalers and distributors carrying a high stock level caused cashflow issues and ultimately creditor pressure. The sale of the business and its assets not only secures 13 regional jobs, but provides a future for the wholesale business.”
