Professionals from the Newcastle office of leading property consultancy Fisher German are playing a key role in a nationwide fundraising effort that has already surpassed its £25,000 target, with more than two months of the challenge still to go.
The firm’s Big 25 Challenge marks Fisher German’s 25th anniversary and sees colleagues travel between all 25 of its UK offices in a mammoth 2,400-mile relay – without using any motorised transport. From walking and running to cycling, horseback riding, paddleboarding, roller skating, and even skiing, staff, clients, and charity partners have been finding inventive ways to complete each leg.
The Newcastle office has chosen to support Beat Eating Disorders, the UK’s leading charity for people affected by eating disorders. Beat provides emotional support, practical advice, and a range of services to help anyone dealing with these conditions, as well as supporting families and carers.
With donations now totalling £25,642 and still 11 weeks to go, the amount raised will be split equally between 25 chosen charities nationwide – and Fisher German has pledged to match-fund up to £25,000, meaning at least £50,000 will be shared.
While Newcastle takes on its leg of the journey, other offices are also making their mark. London launched the first stage with a 148-mile route supporting XLP, a charity helping disadvantaged young people in inner-city London. In the East Midlands, offices are backing causes including LOROS Hospice, Cardiac Risk in the Young, Hope Against Cancer, and DEBRA. Each charity is close to its office’s heart, and together they cover a wide range of causes from life-limiting illness and rare conditions to youth support and cancer research.
The Big 25 is also part of a new chapter for Fisher German, which is undergoing a major rebrand to reflect its ambition, pioneering approach, and growing national reach. The firm has 800 property professionals operating across commercial, infrastructure, residential, rural, and utilities sectors, with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles at the heart of its operations. Its advisors are also at the forefront of sustainability and ‘green property’ initiatives, helping clients achieve net zero, adopt green energy solutions, and meet their ESG goals.
Fisher German Partner Stuart Flint said:
“It is absolutely fantastic that we have already hit our fundraising target of £25,000, and as a business we are extremely proud to match-fund this in recognition of the efforts of our amazing colleagues, the many clients who have supported us and the collaboration of our excellent chosen charities.
“The firm has grown considerably over the years, and our Big 25 relay challenge is providing the perfect opportunity to bring colleagues from right across the business together.
“Everyone is having a lot of fun coming up with a plan for each leg, and we’ve seen plenty of unique and creative modes of travel.
“It has also been a great way to mark our rebrand which starts a new chapter at Fisher German as we look to grow even further over the next 25 years of the company’s life.
“I would like to congratulate everyone at the firm for their hard work on our Big 25 challenge so far, and I look forward to the final legs raising even more money for charity.”
With Newcastle’s contribution and the continued creativity of colleagues across the UK, the Big 25 Challenge is well on its way to making a lasting impact on 25 worthy causes.
